Dr. Samuel Patrick Walker, MD

Dr. Samuel Walker obtained his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1973, and then completed his Residency in Internal Medicine in 1976. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Walker can recognize and treat a broad range of illnesses. Walker serves as an attending physician at Crenshaw Community Hospital.

Dr. Tompkins Crenshaw Community Physicians

Dr. Charles Samuel Tompkins, MD

Dr. Tompkins is a long time Crenshaw County physician with over 30 years of experience in family and emergency medicine. Tompkins received his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1984 and completed his residency at the Jackson Health System. Dr. Tompkins serves as Chief of Staff and an attending physician for Crenshaw Community Hospital.

Dr. Clint Kilcrease, MD

Dr. Kilcrease is a long time resident of Brantley. He attended undergraduate school at Troy University. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and completed his residency at Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program in Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. Kilcrease practices family medicine and is proud to return home to care for his friends and neighbors.

Dr. Prithviraj “Raj” Chavan, MD

Dr. Prithviraj Rajaram Chavan was born in Mumbai, India where he completed his medical education and residency. With a strong interest to specialize in sports medicine and joint replacement, he traveled to the U.S. to advance his education. Dr. Chavan trained at prestigious medical centers such as Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Sports Orthopedics and Spine, PC in Jackson, TN and the University of Buffalo, New York. Before coming to CCH, Chavan had over 20 years of diverse experience in the field of Orthopedics. By using both non-surgical and surgical approaches, he can alleviate muscular and skeletal problems resulting from injury or arthritis. Dr. Chavan offers a variety of orthopedic services to the citizens of Crenshaw and its surrounding counties.

Dr. Gill Crenshaw Community Physicians

Dr. Rick S. Gill, MD, FACS

General Surgeon

Dr. Rick S. Gill was born in India but spent most of his younger years in a small town in California. After graduating college in California, Gill moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where he attended Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then completed his internship at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. From there, he traveled to Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he finished his General Surgery Residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina. After that, Dr. Gill traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, and was a Thoracic Surgery Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In July of 2006, Dr. Gill traveled to Troy, Alabama, where he currently holds his practice. Dr. Gill occasionally serves as an attending surgeon at CCH.

Urologist

Dr. Alfred Newman, MD is a Urology Specialist with over 44 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1976. He then completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Newman has more experience with Urologic Care, Calculi (stones), and Male Reproductive Medicine than other specialists in his area. Dr. Newman specializes in the treatment of Bladder Issues, Overactive Urinary Bladder, Urologic Emergencies, Erectile Dysfunction (ED), Prostatitis, Kidney Stones, and Prostate Cancer. Dr. Newman holds a regularly scheduled Urology Clinic at Crenshaw Community Hospital for the residents of Crenshaw County.

Dr. Saeed A. Shah, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Saeed Shah, MD. graduated from King Edward Medical School in 1979. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and then completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Now, Dr. Shah serves as a Psychiatry Specialist in Luverne and Troy, Alabama. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Shah has more experience with Addiction and Substance Abuse, Psychotic Disorders, and General Mental Health than other specialists in his area. At CCH, Dr. Shah serves as the attending physician for our Behavioral Health Unit.

Dr. Gene Gordon, MD

Dr. Gene Gordon obtained his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1979, completed his Residency In Anesthesiology in 1986 and became Board Certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1988. Dr. Gordon specializes in neck and back pain, including work- related injuries, sciatica, arthritis pain, nerve damage, muscle spasm, shingles pain, and headaches.
